Ruby, my German Shepherd who suffers from chronic renal disease, turned two today!

This little doggie is somewhat of a miracle — with the state her kidneys were in when she was rescued, she shouldn’t have survived, but she did, and she’s as strong as ever.  She is definitely an inspiration to me, and that’s why I’m writing Ruby and the Moon.  Episode 4 is complete, I’m just waiting for some artwork (though I may just post it with a photo this time, since I do have an appropriate one).  We had a bit of a scare with Ruby this weekend.  She either got into something yucky or has an infection, which caused her kidneys to start shutting down.  Luckily, with some extra fluid to help flush toxins out of her system and an antibiotic to knock out any infection, she is feeling much better today.

We celebrated with a trip to PetCo and some new toys. =D

Ruby and Lexi playing with their squeaky balls. You can see where her leg was shaved during her vet visit a few days ago.

The Narrative in the Blog explores metafiction, narrative form and storytelling. It is currently on indefinite hiatus, but I believe there's plenty here to read about and learn from. Enjoy the archives!

  • I've been watching a bit of Rocko's Modern Life on Netflix. I mean, I remembered how demented that show is, but damn, that show is demented! 1 year ago
